Nurse Practitioner and Doctor were excellent

I appreciated that Dr. Anderson and the fellow took time to listen and review the detailed history I brought. My disappointment was not with their manner or willingness to listen. I was referred for a complex change in my longstanding narcolepsy and response to oxybate. After years of a relatively predictable response, my sleep/wake pattern changed significantly during Lumryz and has remained abnormal and highly unpredictable since returning to Xywav. I was hoping for specialist-level interpretation of why this may have occurred - even if the exact mechanism cannot be proven - including plausible hypotheses, what could be tested, and how that reasoning should guide treatment. Instead, I left primarily with medication changes and a recommendation for a set Xywav schedule, despite explaining that I now sometimes sleep through alarms or do not wake fully enough to follow one. I felt listened to, but I did not feel that the central clinical problem I came for was actually understood or addressed. This condition has caused a major loss of function and quality of life, and I left still carrying the burden of trying to understand what changed and why.

This is my first visit with Dr. Anderson at the clinic. He was excellent and very thorough as was his staff.

Dr Anderson excels at being very personable and he listens well. He never gives up on me using the cpap machine. He always has alternative solutions to improve my cpap tolerance.
