Dr. Brinn earned his BS, with Phi Beta Kappa honors, from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and he graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2001. He completed his residency in internal medicine/pediatrics at the University Health Systems of Eastern North Carolina, where he served as chief resident. He joined the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in 2006, where he served as Chief of the Division of Med/Peds, Clinical Director of Howell's Hospital for Chronic Children, and Director of the Med-Peds residency program.
Dr. Brinn has received several teaching awards during his career. His interests include the care of patients with chronic disease, transitioning children with complex conditions and special health care needs into adulthood, and resident education. Dr. Brinn is board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. He sees patients at the South Tampa Center and Diabetes Healthy Living Locations, and attends on the pediatric and internal medicine wards.
