Luis Arroyo, MD

Luis H. Arroyo, M.D., completed his medical training at the University of Salamanca Medical School, Salamanca, Spain. He completed his residency, chief medical resident, and cardiology fellowship at the New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Arroyo has completed special training in cardiac transplantation and echocardiography. In addition, he has served as director at the heart failure and transplant unit in Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and director at the advance heart failure and transplant service at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center. He is also board certified in cardiovascular disease, advanced heart failure, heart transplant, and internal medicine. He has served as an associate professor of medicine in UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Arroyo has had several articles published in the area of cardiac transplantation and lung transplantation. He has also completed several books in Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine 1st and 2nd Edition and the Heart in Diabetes. He is a member of numerous professional and scientific societies including the Heart Failure Society of America, International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and American Society of Echocardiography.
