Junaid Ahmed, MD

Junaid Ahmed, M.D., completed fellowships in kidney transplantation and nephrology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. After graduating from Christian Medical College in Vellore, India Dr. Ahmed relocated to the United States to complete his internal medicine residency at the State University of New York/Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and nephrology, Dr. Ahmed received the Best Resident Award from the State University of New York's Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Ahmed has written articles for publication in the American Journal of Transplantation, American Journal of Kidney Diseases, as well as Transplantation and Seminars in Dialysis. Some of his research studies include CMV prophylaxis in renal transplantation, outcomes of live kidney donation in African American donors and effects of blood tubing on the efficiency of hemodialysis. Dr. Ahmed is a member of professional organizations including the American Society of Transplantation and the American Society of Nephrology.
