Charles J. Lockwood, MD, MHCM, is EVP of USF Health, Dean of Morsani College of Medicine and a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology (Ob/Gyn) and Public Health. Previously, he served as Dean of the College of Medicine and Vice President for Health Sciences at Ohio State, and chaired the Departments of Ob/Gyn at Yale and NYU.
His research has been supported by multiple NIH and March of Dimes grants. He has chaired and/or served on multiple NIH study sections and FDA committees, authored 290 peer-reviewed publications, 170 editorials, three books and co-edited 7 major textbooks. He is the Obstetrics Section editor for UpToDate, and Editor-in-Chief of Contemporary Ob/Gyn, where his editorials have garnered five national publishing awards. He is past president of the Society for Reproductive Investigation (SRI), and President-Elect of the American Gynecological and Obstetrical Society.
Dr. Lockwood is magna cum laude graduate of Brown University, earned his MD from the University of Pennsylvania, and his Master of Science in Health Care Management from the Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his Ob/Gyn residency at Pennsylvania Hospital and a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Yale.
